Super? The Eagles Were.

That was one weird game last night! The Eagles defense — no surprise — played a tough, dominant game against the Chiefs. But, even with the score as it was, the Chiefs’ defense was no slouch. They held the Eagels’ ground game to reasonably low numbers (Barkley had 50-some yards on a million carries; Hurts had 72 yards and a TD on the ground). Hurts had some nice passes — good, accurate throwing.

The Eagles’ defense will be giving Mr. Mahomes nightmares for months or years to come. He looked like how I felt after failing my Stats final in college — just “done in.” I don’t know how they managed to get 6 or 7 sacks without ever blitzing. That makes my head shake. How can that happen? What happened to KC’s offensive line?

The Chiefs didn’t show the fire they usually exhibit. It was as though only one team was allowed to have the aggressive, motivated, I’m on top and you’re not attitude, and Philly claimed it first. The Chiefs were awaiting their turn and it didn’t come until about 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Why did it take the Chiefs about 3 quarters to realize that they should be rolling Mahomes out to the right, getting out of the pocket where he was getting hammered.

Getting hit while standing in the pocket caused, I think, at least one of Mahomes’ interceptions. Take away the two interceptions and the score suddenly (possibly , though one never really knows) is 26-20. I know it’s arguable; still, it would have been a closer game.

That sounds a little closer.

Anyway, it still was fun to watch.

Cheers, y’all!

p.s. I was pulling for KC.
